Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her mother was at home as a mother. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. Beginning at a very early age McCormick was a singer as well as dance. She would also present puppet shows to youngsters in the area. At the age 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether she was looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her first major performance in 1964 on a tv commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show The Wind It up and It Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was among 1200 other children to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five years. McCormick disclosed her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity in the hands of Barry Williams during the five-year duration of the show. He was just 19. She was just 16. She told me, but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
